Configuration: Participant Registration
Restrict Registration for Participation to Presenting Authors
Topic: Restrict Registration for Participation to Presenting Authors
We would like to restrict registration to presenters only, ensuring that all authors of accepted papers can register and present their papers.
Is it possible to configure the appropriate setting in ConfTool?
You can restrict access to the registration function accordingly.
Please go to this page:
Overview => Settings => Main Settings for Participant Registration
… and
activate the expert settings
at the bottom of the page.
Go to the section "Participant Registration Options" and update the option
"Constraint for the Registration for Participation"
(see image) and select the setting "Registration is only open to speakers/presenters (with accepted submission)".
Please note that users must
hold the status of "Presenter"
in the system to register for participation.
This can either be the submitting author of an accepted submission, or any author marked as a presenter, provided they already have a user account.
Detailed information on this topic can be found on the pages
How to define the presenting author / presenter of a paper
and
User Status 'Presenter' (Presenting Author) is not correctly set
.
Hints:
- To allow further users to register for participation, you can give them the "Approved to Participate" user status. How the status is set is explained on the page
Approve the registration for participation for specific users (after the official deadline)
.
- If you wish to limit the number of participants from a specific participant group, or set an overall cap for the entire event, please refer to the forum entries
Limit the number of participants from one specific participant group
and
Limit the total number of all participants (from all participant groups)
