Topic: Can I create a user account without e-mail address / e-mail verification?  (Read 47309 times)

Some of the sessions will be hosted by people who do not necessarily need to or who do not want to register as users.
As the session chairs are picked from the list of users, how do we create a (dummy) user account without entering the actual data for the e-mail address or sending a confirmation e-mail?

(A German version of this article is available.)

You can create a (dummy) user account without entering a valid e-mail address and without sending a confirmation of the account data to the user.

On the overview page, simply click on the quick link “New User”. Enter the relevant data. If you want to, you can leave the e-mail address empty.
For the option “Confirmation E-mail” choose the setting “Register user without verifying the e-mail address and sending a confirmation”.

Please note: Session chairs attend the event, so if you use the participant registration module of ConfTool Pro, these persons will need to register anyway. In this case, it would be advisable to ask them to register themselves or to send them their user details, so they can use this account to register for participation.
