Topic: Hide deadlines from authors  (Read 81884 times)

You may want to have "official" deadlines displayed to authors and "internal" (later) deadlines for submissions as entered in the ConfTool system.

ConfTool currently does not support an "official" vs. an "unofficial" deadline.
However, there are two options to handle this scenario:
1. As you can change the deadlines at any time just update the deadline when it approaches to the new, final deadline.
2. You can also disable the automatic display of deadlines and enter the "official" deadline in the text "Submission Details", that is displayed to the authors for each submission type.

The global deadline for paper submission is set in:
Overview => Settings => Conference Phases and Deadlines
This deadline applies to all tracks / submission types.

You can also set alternative deadlines and hide them for each track of submissions/reviews.
Please go to:
Overview => Settings => Manage Submission Types / Conference Tracks
Select the item to edit:
- "Submission Details" is shown on the page "Your submissions" to the authors
- The section "Alternative deadlines of this type/track" has the option "Show deadlines?". Set it to "No" to disable the display of deadlines for this track / submission type (see image 1).

Hint: Deadlines are displayed on the main page for submissions only if there are less than 180 days left until the deadline (see image 2).
