Services used to store and process your data

FH Upper Austria uses the web-based system ConfTool to prepare and organize this event. The ConfTool software and the servers storing and processing your data are provided by ConfTool GmbH. All servers are hosted by ConfTool GmbH and are located in a DIN ISO/IEC 27001 certified data center in Germany. Every event uses a separate installation and database. FH Upper Austria is the operator of this installation.

ConfTool GmbH will never use the data of any installation for other purposes as authorized by FH Upper Austria. ConfTool will never distribute any data to third parties without prior written authorization of FH Upper Austria. ConfTool GmbH is a German software service provider that considers the standards of the European GDPR and the German BDSG.

 

Data collection when using the ConfTool system

Who is responsible for the data collection by this ConfTool installation?

The data collected by this ConfTool installation are used and processed by FH Upper Austria. A link to the contact details can be found in the legal notice in the lower left corner of every ConfTool page.

How does FH Upper Austria collect your data?

Some data are collected when you provide them to us. This could, for example, be data you enter into a form when you create a user account, submit a proposal or register as participant.

Other data are collected automatically by the IT system when you access the ConfTool system. These data are primarily technical data such as user and registration information when you accessed the page. These data will not be combined with data from other sources. The data are mainly used to improve security and usability and allows FH Upper Austria to help you when you have problems using the system. The basis for this data processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR, meaning that it is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interest pursued by FH Upper Austria.

Processing of data

We process your personal data when accessing this ConfTool installation only to the extent required to enable you to access our service, for preparation and organization of the event and to inform you about subsequent conferences/events that might be of interest for you.
The personal data can be also used by third parties for the exclusive purpose of sending special offers, online surveys and other promotional activities by e-mail or post.

 

Period of retention

FH Upper Austria stores your data for 7 years as from the closing of this ConfTool installation, due to billing purposes, legal reasons (e.g. finance and tax law) or to be capable issuing confirmations of participation, if required. The operator demands from ConfTool GmbH the deletion of the data after closing this ConfTool installation.
