Session Abstract
Recent surveys point to the presence of blind spots in the boardroom: what stakeholders expect from companies may not be fully reflected in what boards attend to, prioritize, and decide to pursue. While the recent evidence focuses on the more concurrent societal and corporate issues (e.g., environmental sustainability, diversity and inclusion, cybersecurity), the underlying phenomenon that blind spots pose a threat to boards’ effective decision making is not new and requires thinking about how past and emerging research can guide our thinking and future research.
