Aligning IDGs Constructively for Transformative Service Learning 1TUD Dresden University of Technology; 2Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR); 3Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) Inner Development Goals (IDGs) are intended to complement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through providing an inner dimension of reflecting time-critical action for sustainable development. Thus, IDGs are to reduce and to bridge the frequently-discussed knowledge-action-gap between knowledge, traits and behaviour by sparking off inner abilities of people and organizations in order to implement SDGs effectively. In this respect, IDGs may turn abilities into capabilities for focused action. Being passionate about service learning we would like to take you into the sphere of our real-world challenges regularly provided at German universities, such like LMU and TUD, in particular. We invite you to share selected experiences recently made by applying IDGs in these learning assignments. In the course of this truly collaborative, inventive and committed endeavour we are eager to learn and explore with you how IDGs may potentially impact on guided reflections of documented accounts of learning through service. Thus, IDGs , may become part of the DNA in our constructive alignments, turning into drivers of transformational format design, at best. What to expect? Since we are proposing a teaching and learning lab, we are going to provide some framing context that we consider critical for working co-creatively. This primarily relates to concepts and definitions of service learning and format design in higher education. Having set this context we would like to didactically guide you through our laboratory of learning in order to share aha moments with us, make valuable linkages to your teaching-learning activities, find leverage points of collaboration, and simply have fun making use of this like-minded-aficionado opportunity. | |
