Grammatical Information in the TEI Critical Apparatus Uniwersytet Jagielloński w Krakowie, Poland Very often, if only implicitly, the critical apparatus records grammatical considerations. Their digital encodings usually confine themselves to classifying variants by their grammatical differences from the lemma and even omit some implicit data. The poster will first survey the plethora of grammatical information incorporated into printed critical editions. Then, it will present early work on encoding that information using the TEI morphosyntactic and (proposed) syntactic annotations, satisfying formulated desiderata. These will allow for semi-automatic classification of variants and disambiguate their representation. The poster will also try to develop tools for the interaction between linguistic annotations and the critical apparatus. Finally, it will highlight further opportunities for employing the information from the encoding. | |
