Lieb-Robinson bounds for irreversible dynamics via adaptive Dyson expansion University of Tübingen, Germany The "curse of dimensionality" refers to the fact that in many-body quantum systems, the dimension of the Hilbert space grows exponentially in the number of degrees of freedom, making it extremely difficult to obtain rigorous control over their evolution. For this reason the so-called Lieb-Robinson bounds become an indispensable tool in the rigorous analysis of such systems, as they control the propagation of information in a uniform way and reflect the locality of the underlying time evolution. | |
