Not only Text and Data but also Software. Modern Research Software Architecture for Legacy DH Projects. Travelogue Portals in Digital History. Showcasing the new digiberichte.de 1: Niedersächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Gö, Deutschland; 2: Independent IT Consultant Maintaining software projects over a longer period of time is challenging. Not only security fixes have to be applied, but from time to time new features need to be added, or the user interface need to be updated to fit more actual needs. We want to share our experience and strategy for a successful reengineering of legacy websites with “digiberichte.de” as an example. This poster aims to present the current version of the project and the web application that has been created based on the original research data. The web application provides KWIC access to the bibliographic data and the full texts of primary and secondary literature on the topic and draws the itineraries of travelers using modern web mapping technology. We see digiberichte.de as a testimony of the evolution of RSE in the last twenty years | |
