We would like to identify time conflicts in the conference agenda, e.g., when an author gives two presentations at the same time or a chair has to moderate two sessions in parallel.

We would like to know if there are authors who give more than one presentation at our conference, appear in more than one session, or are listed as authors for more than one submission.

What options does ConfTool offer for this purposes?

ConfTool offers a special function that allows you to analyze authors, presenters and chairs of the conference agenda (see image 1).

You can choose from several analysis options to check if some authors (and chairs) give more than one presentation, appear in several sessions / submissions or even give two presentations at the same time.

First, select an analysis mode to find the group of persons you are looking for.
Second, decide if you want to consider session chairs / moderators in the results.
In the last step, decide if you want to consider all authors or only authors who were marked as presenters.

Example for finding persons who appear as authors in several submissions:
1. Select the analysis mode “Persons who are listed as authors for more than one submission” (see image 2).
2. Disable the option to consider session chairs / moderators in the results.
3. Select the option to consider all authors.

Example of identifying time conflicts according to different criteria:
1. Select an analysis mode of “Persons who appear at two or more different sessions at the same time…” according to your specific needs. Choose whether to include sessions that overlap in time or just check for the same time slot (see image 3).
2. Decide if you want to consider session chairs / moderators in the results (usually “Yes”).
3. Decide if you want to consider all authors or only authors who were marked as presenters. The latter are often the only ones attending the event.
