It depends on the country.
PayPal is often a cheap solution (especially for smaller events) to receive payments from the US, Canada, Australia, the UK etc.
However, some developing countries are currently not supported, possibly due to concerns related to transaction security or limited market viability for companies such as PayPal.
It is also worth noting that certain acquirers may not accept credit card payments originating from these regions.
Therefore, the notion that "we simply need credit card payments” does not always provide a comprehensive solution to all payment-related challenges.

Another option to receive card payments from (nearly) anywhere is
Stripe.

Unlike PayPal, participants never need an account, they just enter their card details after the registration process.
