Utilizing The Living Building Challenge Framework for Carbon Reduction in Colorado

Chair(s): Taylor Roberts (Group14 Engineering, United States of America)

Presenter(s): Amanda Spice (Group14 Engineering), Stephan Hall (Anderson Mason Dale), Lauren McNeill (Group14 Engineering), Kate DuMez (Group14 Engineering)

Addressing carbon holistically has become a mandate for project teams that are working in jurisdictions with building performance standards or for clients who have carbon reduction commitments. The International Living Future Institute’s Living Building Challenge certification program serves as a framework for addressing carbon emissions holistically. This session will provide a high-level overview of the framework before focusing on two project case studies: Aspen Distillery a LEED Platinum Certified project that is also pursuing Living Building Challenge’s (LBC) Living Certification, and Northglenn City Hall is pursuing LBC Core certification.
