Panel Discussion: IRs – Providing support across the Research Lifecycle
The University of Queensland, Australia
Institutional Repositories are a central and core resource that provide support across many varied parts of the Research Lifecycle. Indeed, they are the source of truth for research outputs and other interesting metrics, but they also provide key information for multiple other interactions. We propose a panel of Research Support Managers from across the Library to discuss the multitude of ways that the institutional repository can touch on the different research support services we provide, and how these feed back into the broader Research Lifecycle.
The panel, as experts in providing research support at different parts of the research lifecycle, will talk across multiple conference themes, as listed below
• Supporting Open Scholarship, Open Data, and Open Science
• Repositories and Cultural Heritage
• Repositories of high volume and/or complex data and collections
• Managing Research Data, Software, and Workflows
• Exploring Metrics, Assessment, and Impact
• Managing Rights
• Developing and Training Staff
The key take home message from this panel is to highlight and discuss ways in which the institutional repository can be utilised when providing support across the Research Lifecycle. It will be exciting to discuss the different approaches we take, and possible future uses.
