Keynote 3: Remote Sensing & GIS for Rural & Urban regions, Dr Raj Kumar, Prof Satish Dhawan Scientist at Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad, ISRO

Dr Raj Kumar, is presently Prof Satish Dhawan Scientist at Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad, ISRO, after his superannuation from the post of Director, National Remote Sensing Centre, ISRO in February 2022. He is actively involved in mentoring young scientists for cutting edge science and applications with spaceborne sensors and involved in reviewing several key ongoing and upcoming applications projects. He began his career with ISRO after his Masters in Physics and over the years, has held several key positions within the organization. During his tenure, he has lead the activities related to understanding Earth System, processes and interactions using earth observation data, and its applications towards societal benefits as well as studies in Planetary sciences. He has more than 125 publications in peer reviewed Journals of International repute and has also supervised more than 10 young researchers and still guiding young scientists for their Ph.D Dr Raj Kumar played pivot...
