Open Science represents a relatively new approach to the scientific process based on cooperative work and new ways of diffusing knowledge using digital technologies and new collaborative tools. Before 2016, content and Open Educational Resources were the key elements (and usually the only ones) in the openness movement. A milestone in the Open Science movement is the preparation of a UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science, aligning with the UNESCO Recommendation on OER (UNESCO, 2019). This recommendation is prepared for adoption by the UNESCO member states in November 2021. Read more about the recommendation here

The focus in this Open Lab is how Open Science can support, in an innovative way (Open Innovation) the design, implementation, and validation of formal, non-formal, and informal learning settings.
