ID: 330 / Session 12.1: 6 Dänisches 3D Strukturmodell: Zusammenarbeiten, Visualisierung und Daten Management I-GIS A/S, Dänemark We will give Insights into the technical aspects on building a national 3D hydro stratigraphical model. In Demark mapping for groundwater has been going on for the last 30 years. All in all, it is estimated that 300 mio € has been spent on collecting data and building models, all now represented in one national 3D model. This work has been challenging, and new technologies have been developed as well as workflows supporting these. Geophysical investigations have played a key role in the Danish Groundwater Mapping as these data has been vital for a detailed understanding of the subsurface, but using geophysical data is also a challenge due to the sheer volume of data. Building hydro stratigraphic models has gained a lot using geophysics, but other data are equally important, and 3D modeling must be able to incorporate all data types. As time went by the need for a confined model framework became obvious. Also, the fact that multiple parties, both public and private, are involved in establishing the national model gave some challenges, both on how to establish big models but also on further development and refinement of the models. This has meant that special functionalities both management system and modeling software were required. This resulted in a web-based system that enabled different areas to be modeled concurrently and a quality assessment to be implemented. Some insights into this process and system will be presented. In Denmark access to geological and hydrological datasets has been open to public and the benefits has been significant. So, managing and storing data in general, has also been of great concern and importance and systems for storing data, sharing and visualization have been built to accommodate this. | |
