Session Abstract | ||
This is a hybrid meeting organized by the Digital Humanities Course Registry Working group, which is co-chaired by Anna Woldrich, Iulianna van der Lek and Maria Goicoechea. Details for the meeting, including agenda and meeting link, are in the linked external resource. While initially set up for the DHCR national moderators, the meeting is open to all DHCR course contributors and other conference participants active in DH teaching and training. The aim of the meeting is to give an update on the latest developments, after which the participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and share news about the DH teaching and education landscape in their countries. The CLARIN/DARIAH DH Course Registry offers a map-based search environment that gives access to a database that contains information on Digital Humanities university courses and programmes worldwide. Initially, the registry covered only a small selection of DH courses offered by European universities, but it gradually extended when course contributors from Canada, US, South America, Japan and South Africa joined the community. Students, lecturers and researchers can search the database on the basis of topographical information (location), ECTS credits or the academic degrees that are awarded. In addition it is possible to search for courses based on TaDiRAH, a taxonomy of Digital Research Activities in the Humanities (including labels for tasks, techniques and objects) and sub-disciplines from the Social Sciences and the Humanities (SSH). The goal of the DH Course Registry is to provide information to: (i) students and researchers who intend to take up a study in the field of Digital Humanities, (ii) lecturers who are looking for examples of good practices in the DH field or want to promote their own DH-related teaching activities and material, and (iii) administrators who aim to attract and facilitate international student and staff mobility and exchange.
