Topic: Allowing track chairs / sub-chairs to set a preliminary acceptance status  (Read 52210 times)

You want to allow track chairs to set a recommended acceptance status after the review process before the main organizers decide about acceptance.

How can this be done?

We'd recommend to add new acceptance statuses "Recommended for Acceptance" and "Recommended for Rejection" that can be set by Chairs only.

On the page
Overview => Settings => Manage Acceptance Status

new acceptance statuses "Recommended for Acceptance" and "Recommended for Rejection" can be created easily, e.g. by copying the existing entries "Accepted" and "Rejected".

On the create / edit pages the access options ("Assignment Rights") for each status can be set.

So please set the new statuses accessible only to Chairs /Track Chairs and hide all existing statuses like "Accepted" and "Rejected" from them.

Scroll down to "Assignment Rights" and use the corresponding checkboxes to do so.

NB: ConfTool does NOT send an automatic mail to authors when the status is changed.
