This masterclass provides an in-depth exploration of intraoral scanning techniques and manual as well as digital drinking plate planning for newborns with cleft lip and palate. Designed for dental professionals, specialists and technicians, the session will cover the fundamentals of intraoral scanning, emphasizing its advantages over traditional impression methods, including enhanced precision and patient comfort. Participants will learn how to efficiently capture accurate 3D digital impressions of the maxilla and the importance of these scans in creating customized drinking plates. Practical demonstrations will highlight key strategies for managing the unique anatomical challenges of cleft patients, and hands-on training will equip attendees with the skills needed to integrate these technologies into clinical practice. The course will also delve into digital drinking plate planning, showcasing how digital maxillary models can be used to design and simulate the optimal drinking plate. Moreover, the design and construction of specialized apparatures like the Pierre-Robin-Plate will be discussed.
