|
What makes a building fit for purpose? We have regulations, guidance and metrics but many buildings fail to achieve these and we know that a good building is more than these. To deliver a healthy, safe and sustainable building we need to not only connect up the evidence for how buildings affect people and the environment with the policy and regulation, but to also understand how this is delivered in practice and recognise the complexity of real-world environments. This talk draws on experience in connecting up science, policy and practice during the pandemic to consider why we overlook key risks and how we can enable a better pipeline to ensure research evidence can enable real world change. |
